Consistency
The best seeds are well bred and can take multiple plant generations of crosses to produce. Traits in plants should be very similar from plant to plant, i.e. minimal variation in phenotypes. In most F1 Hybrid irregular crosses there will be two or even three variations of the same type of plant. IBLs (inbred lines or land races) shouldn’t have much variation at all in the physical traits of plants–the same is true for feminized cannabis seeds. That said, if you’re selecting for a special mother plant for future crops, some variation may be welcome to select from in assessing the best seeds for the situation
Plant Traits
Potency is usually high on the list when determining which are the best cannabis seeds, ie a top ranking trait. However, a high THC plant that tastes like cardboard, yields poorly or that is a finicky grower isn’t likely going to earn any titles as the best cannabis seeds.
